SERVE OUR CITIES – April 15, 2023

We are headed out into the community to show the love of Christ by serving our neighbors and leading in our communities. Serve Day is the perfect chance to grab your family, small group, co-workers, and even a few neighbors to serve with you! There is something for everyone. You can choose from one of 30+ locations and projects.

Kick Off Rally | 8:30 AM


Don’t miss the Kick-Off party! Meet at Mountaintop to kick off this amazing day to serve our city. Come grab a donut and coffee, and see hundreds of others serving TOGETHER all over our cities!

Serve Day Begins | 9:15 AM



Each group will gather with their Site Coordinator and caravan to assigned locations to begin serving and loving on our communities in and around BHM!

Christian Service Mission

Connecting Resources with needs all across Birmingham and the South. CSM exists to work alongside churches in order to build healthy communities that reflect Oneness with Christ in our city. We will be sorting food boxes in the CSM warehouse that will be utilized by local churches to impact their neighbors.

Discovery Clubs

Ministering to children in public schools in Birmingham and surrounding areas. To aid in their efforts to reach kids for Christ – partner with Discovery Clubs to organize and sort supplies for upcoming initiatives.

Firehouse Shelter

Their mission is to provide to homeless men, ages 18 and older, in the Birmingham Area a nurturing and caring environment offering supportive services that break the cycle of homelessness and empower individuals to achieve their highest potential.

The Foundry

The mission of the Cooperative Downtown Ministries, Inc. (the corporation) is to provide to homeless men, ages 18 and older, in the Birmingham Area a nurturing and caring environment offering supportive services that break the cycle of homelessness and empower individuals to achieve their highest potential. We will be serving the Men’s Program House in Bessemer by painting and light gardening.

Jimmie Hale Mission

Our mission is to transform adults directly affected by homelessness, poverty-thinking, and/or addiction, into those who lead healthy, self-sufficient, and productive lives for the glory of God. The project includes cleaning the kitchen and serving lunch to the men at the center.

Lovelady Thrift Store – Irondale

They are empowering women through faith-based initiatives so they can return to society as well-equipped women of God. The program is about empowerment, hope, and a belief in the value of each and every human life. The project will include organizing and cleaning at their thrift store located in Irondale.

A vibrant and needed ministry to Birmingham’s homeless population. Serving breakast and encouraging those who need someone with a listening ear and compassion.

Mwana Villages (Bake Sale)

Mwana provides refuge to vulnerable children and families with the goal of preserving the family. A long time partner of Mountaintop. Bakes sales around the city will raise funds to further the work of Mwana Villages in the Congo.

Oak Mountain Missions supports the people of Birmingham via resources such as food, clothing, household items, linens, furniture, and limited financial assistance. This project will include cleaning, organizing, and light landscaping projects.

Salvation Army – Center of Hope

We serve Central Alabama at The Center of Hope, located in the historic Lewis Elementary School building, just off Finley Boulevard.  The Center of Hope serves men, women, children, and families in need by providing direct and supportive services designed to eradicate homelessness, feed the hungry, serve Veterans, and prepare a workforce that supports the needs of business and industry.

Serving You

Providing hope to families in the greater Birmingham area by providing sustainable solutions to challenges they face. We assist in education, child-care, job readiness, safe and affordable housing, health and nutrition, and crisis relief through our hub partnerships. This project will entail organization and a community garden.

The WellHouse

We provide residential, therapeutic programs to female victims of human trafficking who have been sexually exploited, offering medical, spiritual, mental, and emotional care. Volunteers here will help with a couple of beautification projects on property at The Well House.

Urban Purpose

Urban Purpose, a Christ-centered ministry, empowers homeless and hurting individuals to reach their full potential by offering life-changing relationships & services. We will be serving them by sorting clothes for their soon-to-be open clothes closet, hauling away old furniture, as well as cleaning the facility.
